Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok celebrates first anniversary with grand charity ball
After a year of redefining five-star hotel service and accommodation in Thailand, the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has announced it will celebrate its first anniversary with a glittering charity event that will raise funds for the Thai Red Cross.
In keeping with Kempinski's century-old European history and tradition, the Imperial Ball to be held on September 27 is set to be one of the capital's most talked about events in years. Elaborately themed against a backdrop of opulent and indulgent 15th and 16th century design and décor, the Imperial Ball will be the highlight of the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok's first successful year of operation.
"Kempinski hotels worldwide hold a grand ball each year and we are honoured to bring the unique concept to Thailand for the first time," said Holger Schroth, the Siam Kempinski's General Manager.
"The Imperial Ball will not only be a lavish and historic event, but it will be our opportunity to thank everyone who has made the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok the city's most successful new five-star property. Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Thai Red Cross, further cementing Kempinski's integration into Thai society and our commitment to social responsibility," he added.
Since its official opening last year by Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has been making headlines.
Recently, the world's most influential travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveler, selected the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok as one of the feted 65 properties on its prestigious hotel Hot List 2011.
Spanning 31 countries from Argentina to Russia, the Hot List is compiled using suggestions from the magazine's discerning travel correspondents and writers.
From the day it opened last year, the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has been in the news locally and abroad, with Thailand Tatler declaring the elegant opening "the event of the year" in 2010.
The hotel was also the principal sponsor and host for the spectacular Thai Miss Universe 2011 pageant, bringing it an international spotlight and making it the glamour focal point of the country.
Since it was launched the 303-room and suite Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has become popular with upscale business and leisure travellers from Asia, Europe and North America and has also been recognised for the excellence of its restaurants, including the pioneering Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin Thai restaurant and the stylish Brasserie Europa.
"We aim to make the Imperial Ball one of the most sought after events on Thailand's social calendar this year and to share the Kempinski heritage of European sophistication and hospitality with our guests, friends and colleagues in Bangkok," said Mr Schroth.
While the spectacular backdrops and costumes for the Imperial Ball will only be revealed on the night, guests can expect a sumptuous banquet of the finest European cuisine created especially for the event by the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok's Executive Chef, Mario Hofmann.
Entertainment will feature a unique variety of artists and music set against a lavishly décorated ballroom tableau which will evoke the grand royal courts of France.
Tickets for the Imperial Ball will cost 5,900++ THB per person. Further information and reservation please contact 0-2162-9000 or fb.siambangkok@Kempinski.com.
